The Good Knottie Guide
Problems & Solutions

1) LOADING SPEED: If you're using IE, I highly recommend trying firefox or chrome. Both load the boards at the same speed as the old format. They're hoping to fix the IE issues soon, but here's your quick fix. If you can't switch to a different browser, be sure to check that the box reading "show signatures" (in the top right of screens when you read a thread) is unchecked.
2) PIPs: You now have two options.
a) You can upload pictures from your computer.
b) To PIP a pic hosted online, highlight the picture with your mouse, copy (ctrl +c) and paste it (ctrl + v). Please be aware that just clicking on the picture, selecting copy and past will NOT work. You have to drag your mouse over the picture to highlight it.

Other Solutions
  • If your signatures is old - log out/log in and it should refresh.  If that doesn't work, on the left side under Community Links, click on Update Profile, then Edit Profile and press save.  It should refresh the code you already have there. Also make sure that the code in your siggy is in the <img /> format, not [img].
  • To find your posts, click the magnifying glass in your reply
  • To sort by most recent thread, check the Sort By Most Recent Post box
  • To sort by most recent reply, uncheck the Sort By Most Recent Post box
  • If you get an Error page, simply refresh your page or press the back button on your browser
  • If you want to read a post that has multiple pages and you want to skip to the last page, click on the post count or how many minutes/hours ago a post was written and it will take you to the last page
  • Wedding tickers: For some unknown reason, tickers created by TK will not work on this board. Use another website to create your ticker and it should work. tickerfactory, daisy path, the nest, etc.
     How To Do a Link:
First get the URL and make a TinyUrl (like with PIP).
Return to The Knot and create a post using this code:
    [*url] tinyurlhere [*/url]
Again, remove the stars and leave the space and make sure the TinyUrl is not bold.

     How To Create a Siggy:
Click on "My Knot" and then "Update Profile".
Scroll down and find the section titled "Signature".  The is where you will put your siggy code.
Upload your siggy picture to a photo share site like
    ShutterFly.
Take the URL of the picture you want to use and make a TinyUrl out of it then post this code in the "Signature" section:
    <*br /> <A href="http://stevenpamela.weebly.com" TARGET="_blank"*>Pam's Bio~ Updated 11/3</A><br />
Remove the stars and you have a picture!
     To Add Wording:
If you want the words next to the picture, just start typing what you want next to the code.
But, if you want the words to go below the picture (like a caption) do this:
    <*img src="tinyurlhere" width=200*>
    <*br*> Wording Goes Here
Remove all *s and the wording will appear below the picture.

To Add a One-Touch Bio Link:
I'm just going to show you this using MY bio link.  To make it your bio link just replace the "stevenpamela.weebly" with your web address name (there are TWO ways you can do this!).
Place this code wherever you want the bio link to appear.  Remember to use the <*br*> code to create a new line.
    <br /> <A href="http://stevenpamela.weebly.com" TARGET="_blank">Pam's Bio~ Updated 11/3</A><br />

    How To Create the RSVP
    Thing in Siggy

Sent out your RSVPs?  Want to keep track of the "Yes"s and "No"s in your siggy?  Just use this code:
(NOTE: The numbers before the "<*img " part is the number of people you invited and the number that have responded yes, then the number that have responded no.  Change the numbers as you get RSVPs in!  For this I will be using 100 invites with 75 "Yes" and 25 "No")

    100<*img src="http://tinyurl.com/2sdozd"*>
    75<*img src="http://tinyurl.com/32ch7p"*>
    25<*img src="http://tinyurl.com/2ts57r"*>
    RSVP By Date: July 1st

The Final Product Will Look Like This:
    100 75 25  RSVP By Date: July 1st

Don't forget to take out the *s.
